The 2025 State Tournament registration will be through the national site. Teams must be registered no later than 5pm, March 6th. There is no late registration. Please do not wait until the last minute to register. If you have any technical issues that require National’s assistance, you may miss the deadline.
STEP 1:
Each Head Coach should have received an email from Competitions Portal | Odyssey of the Mind‘ If you’ve received this email please skip to step 2. If you did not receive this email, please continue below.
Your team must be registered on the national site prior to registering for the SoCal State tournament If you placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd at your regional tournament and did not receive this email, your team’s registration is not complete. This was a NEW requirement this year. Instructions were initially shared on November 15th and are copied below for reference. This step must be completed by the Head Coach, not a school administrator or program coordinator.
How to create your team by problem and division
As a Head Coach, you will need your team’s Contact ID Number from the National website to register for all tournaments. (This is an 8-digit number starting with a 7.) Your volunteer judges will also need this number to register on behalf of your team.
Once you’ve completed this process, you may proceed with steps 2-4.

You will need to have the following information in order to complete the team’s registration for the state tournament.:
Team Member’s Names
Team Members Grade Level
Team Members Date of Birth
Co-Coach contact information, Name and Email, if applicable
Two Trained Volunteer Judges contact information, Name and Email

STEP 3:
Log onto the National site, https://odysseyofthemind.com/member-area/ and complete your team’s registration for the State Tournament. National has tutorials available online with the steps to completing tournament registration. Once you successfully complete your team’s registration you will receive a confirmation email.
