Thank you for volunteering as an Odyssey of the Mind Coach! You will be taking an amazing journey as a guide to creativity and innovation for your team.
All coaches must complete the online training modules and attend one mandatory live or in-person webinar in order for their team to compete at the regional tournament. Our online modules are updated for the 2022-2023 season. Log on information is below.
ONE LAST COACH WEBINAR will be held on February 11 at 9:30 am. Register using this link. Every coach AND co-coach must attend a live webinar and complete the new or experienced coach online modules.

If a coach was unable to attend a webinar, please contact your regional director for options. This is mandatory for your team's registration for the regional tournament.

Online Modules
To get your season started, an online coach training program has been developed with program information, coaching tools, and wisdom for your guidance. All coaches and co-coaches who have not completed this online training, new and experienced, will be required to complete the two elements of our online training program before they can register their team for the regional tournament.
A set of training modules are available for our coaches who have more than 2 years coaching AND who have completed the new coach online modules previously. To get started, you will complete our online, self-paced training followed by a live webinar run by expert Odyssey volunteers. You do not need to review the online self-paced training all at once, but it is important to complete the modules and take the check-in quizzes prior to attending the live webinar. This self-paced environment provides you flexibility while significantly shortening the “in seat” time needed for the webinar.
To access your self-paced online training started follow these steps:
- Go to https://training.socalodyssey.org/
- Click on the Introduction Video to Coaches Training icon box and watch the video.
- Click Login to Enroll button
- Follow steps to Register
- Now that you are registered click on Introduction Video to Coaches Training to begin your online training.
There are two courses, a short video, and online course work in the program. The online modules will take approximately an hour to complete. You do not need to complete it all at once, but you do need to complete it prior to the webinar.
Once you have completed the modules, register for ONE live webinar. You only need to attend ONE of the following live webinars, so choose which date works best for you. The live webinars were offered on the following dates via Zoom.
We will again be holding Style, spontaneous, and paperwork webinars via Zoom for coaches AND teams!

We have additional virtual coaching resources available at www.socalodyssey.org, coach tab, Coach Creative Journey Tools folder. Check this folder often as all communication to coaches is copied there so you'll never miss another email. 🙂
