L.A. Basin

Welcome

The Los Angeles Basin Region includes anyone living in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties.

If you’re here at the state website wondering how to get involved and you live in one of the above counties, then email Bob Anderson our regional director.

You are also invited to visit our regional website to find out more about Odyssey in the LA Basin region.

Our interest is not limited to just parents and educators – folks who are curious about how to form and coach teams so that their children/students can participate in the adventure of learning. We live in a mobile society and have realized that many former participants in Odyssey end up out here in California because of career or education pursuits. If you live in one of our region’s counties, let us know: your familiarity with the program and experiences in it can add a lot to the quality of our regional experience, if you have the time to judge or otherwise volunteer your time.

But for those of you who are parents and educators wanting to learn more, judging is also a great way to find out more about the program!!! It is a two day commitment (a training and tournament day) that requires only an appreciation of what children are capable of doing on their own. Most volunteers find the time spent very rewarding and it provides the would-be coach or school coordinator with invaluable hands-on experience about the philosophy and working of Odyssey of the Mind. More information about judging at the tournament can be found on our website.

  1. Hi Bob,

We are interested in forming a 5-8 yr old group within our school of DaVinci Connect. Our kiddos are in a hybrid homeschool, so the parents will be leading the group. This is our first time and I am hoping to receive some guidance to get a group started. I currently have 5 kids interested.
